Talbot Hospice proudly announces Molly Kirsch, BSN, RN as its new Executive Director. Kirsch assumes the top leadership position following the retirement of Chris Chekouras, who served in the role from 2020 – 2023. Over the past several months, Kirsch and Chekouras have worked closely together to ensure a seamless transition.

The Talbot Hospice Memorial Walk will return to Oxford this Spring as part of the annual Oxford Day tradition on Saturday, April 22nd, at 1:00 pm.

Talbot Hospice will host its first-ever Best Girlfriend’s Weekend at the Wylder Hotel on Tilghman Island over the weekend of March 17 – 19, 2023.

Talbot Hospice is pleased to announce the return of its Talbot Kids Grief Camp in August after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19.  Grief Camp will be hosted at Evergreen Cove in Easton and will begin with an orientation for parents and campers on Friday evening, August 12th and a kids-only day camp on Saturday, August 13th. The camp is led by Talbot Hospice’s Bereavement Team of professional grief counselors and specially-trained volunteers.

Talbot Hospice is proud to share that long-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Ernest Beasley, was named CNA of the Year by the Mid-Shore Nursing Assistant Advisory Council last month. Beasley was one of seven Talbot Hospice CNAs who were nominated.

Friends of Hospice and Talbot Hospice are excited to announce that they are collaborating to present Winter Festival 2022 to the Mid-Shore Community.

The Talbot Hospice Memorial Walk returns this Spring and will be held in-person on Saturday, May 14th at Easton’s Rails to Trails and John F. Ford park. A virtual walk is also available to supporters who live out-of-town, or would prefer to participate on their own.  

Following a successful fundraising initiative at the end of 2021, Talbot Hospice has raised the necessary funds to name the final room at the Eleanor A. Koons Hospice House in honor of retired hospice nurse, Marjorie “Pete” Fox.

In case you missed our third and final seminar in our "Know Us Before You Need Us" series with the Alzheimer's Association.

In this session, we covered how to access resources within the community will support an individual's journey as a caregiver for someone with Alzheimer’s or another dementia. We also discussed caregiver tips and strategies to respond to some common behaviors exhibited by individuals living with dementia, such as agitation, and confusion.

Know Us Before You Need Us: A Talbot Hospice Story: Nancy Nolan

Talbot Hospice is proud to partner with Dr. Kelly O’Donnell, of O’Donnell Vein and Laser, to present its first-ever “Know Us Before You Need Us” Campaign.

The “Know Us Before You Need Us” Campaign will feature the stories of patients, families and staff from one or more of Talbot Hospice’s four core programs: Hospice, Palliative Care, Pathways and Bereavement Support. One story will be shared each month on social, digital and print media across the Mid-Shore through December 2021.

Throughout the month of November, Talbot Hospice is joining with its partners and colleagues across the country to raise awareness about the benefits of hospice and palliative care.

The Mid-Shore Community walked more than three million steps during the Talbot Hospice Virtual Memorial Walk over the weekend of September 25th - 27th.

Talbot Hospice is proud to welcome Christopher Chekouras as its new Executive Director. Chekouras joined the organization on August 17th and most recently served as the Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of Saint Agnes Healthcare, a member of Ascension Health, in Baltimore.
