Grief Support for Youth & Children
When children are faced with the death of a loved one they need help understanding what happened, how it happened, and how to deal with their feelings.
Talbot Hospice supports children and teens as they grieve with individual counseling and with family and/or group counseling.
Working in conjunction with public and private schools, the Talbot Hospice Bereavement Center offers a bereavement program that supports grieving children and teens. Counseling is open to all students regardless of where they attend school. Bereavement sessions often take place right in the familiar school setting which offers a relaxed and secure setting. Our bereavement coordinator will arrange the appropriate counseling after talking with the school counselor.
Grief is a very individualized process. Our well trained staff and volunteers work with children in a manner which is respectful of each unique situation. Children often grow through grief when love, care, and support are offered in a comfortable setting.
Our hospice coloring book is very popular with preschool aged children and available in both English and Spanish versions. Click here to learn more.
