Talbot Hospice strives to ensure the best standard of care and safety for everyone we care for. In these unprecedented times, we are faced with making decisions that are very difficult. Leadership at Talbot Hospice has spent this week reviewing our current visiting policy in addition to Governor Hogan’s “Stay At Home” directive. In addition, we have been told there is an increased potential for a surge in COVID 19 cases over the next 2 weeks. In accordance with the CDC and Department of Health guidance, we are implementing the following measures to protect the health of our residents and staff.
Talbot Hospice will be temporarily suspending all visiting effective April 4th, 2020. As before, some patients will meet criteria where an exception will be made for visitors. Leadership will continue to review visiting policies and strive to reopen visiting as soon as we can. In the meantime, we have the technology to provide you all with the ability to have face time and virtual visits. We understand how hard this is and we want to assure you our staff will provide extra attention to each resident during this difficult time. We appreciate all of your support and understanding.
In addition, all grief support groups are temporarily suspended through April 30, 2020. This includes Healing Through Yoga, Caregivers Support Group, Child Loss Support Group, and the Monthly Grief Support Group. Should you require assistance during that time, or if you would like to make arrangements for an individual session, please email email@example.com or call 410-822-6681 and someone will assist you.
Beginning Tuesday, March 24, the Talbot Hospice administrative building will be temporarily closed. Although the building is closed, we are still available by phone at 410-822-6681, so please do not hesitate to call with any questions. We are continuing to provide the same exceptional, compassionate care in the community in private homes, facilities, and our Hospice House.
Thank you for understanding and abiding by these restrictions as we strive to do our part in limiting the spread of the coronavirus. Our first priority is the safety and well-being of our patients, families, staff, and volunteers.
Should you have questions regarding these newly implemented procedures, please contact Talbot Hospice Compliance Officer Mary Jane Meintzer at firstname.lastname@example.org or 410-822-6681.
